Senior Portrait Tips

What to Wear, What to Bring

Your senior photos should be colorful, casual, traditional, and glamorous, so bring your favorite outfits and any props you wish to include in your portrait session. We offer these suggestions for the best look:

Everyone:

Props

Whatever you want! So feel free to bring jerseys, sports equipment, awards and medals, band equipment, hunting gear or something from any other activity or hobby in which you are involved.

Pets

Pets are certainly welcome! you may wish to have someone bring your pet and then leave with them after the pictures with your pet are finished.

Ladies:

Hair and Make-up

If you wish to do your hair and make-up here at the studio, please arrive early so that you may be ready by your scheduled appointment time.

Please avoid oily nighttime make-up and "shimmer" make-up. If you have a summer tan, a bronzing powder that blends with your skin tone, can decrease the chance of your face appearing lighter than the rest of your skin.

Style your hair as you wish, and bring all hair tools you would like to use. Our photographers do try to make sure your hair looks its best before each shot, but it is up to you to inform us how your hair is supposed to look.

Please remember that your fingernails and toe nails will show in some of the pictures. So keep that in mind and take care of all manicures and pedicures before your appointment.

Clothing

Bring clothes which flatter your body type! When taking your Head Shots, please be sure to bring a shirt with sleeves, since a sleeveless look will make your arms look fuller.

You should bring a variety of styles and colors, ranging from casual to dressy. Since your pictures will include close-ups and full length, it is best to plan your outfit completely!

**Please be careful in the sun a few days before your pictures, since tan lines and sunburns will show and cannot be retouched.

Gentlemen:

Clothing

Bring a variety of your favorite styles ranging from casual to dressy. Since your pictures will include close-ups and full length, it is best to plan your outfit completely! For instance, bring dress shoes to go with a suit; flip-flops, loafers or tennis shoes for more casual styles.

Hair

Wear your normal hairstyle with a clean shave.

**Please be careful in the sun a few days before your pictures, since tan lines and sunburns will show and cannot be retouched.
